Nykredit and Legacy enters into collaboration on CO2 reductions for properties

Nykredit aims to be a catalyst for the green transition in the real estate sector. A new partnership with Legacy is set to pave the way for achieving this objective.

Buildings account for approximately one-third of CO2 emissions in Denmark, and as a leading player in the real estate sector, Nykredit wants to drive efforts to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint. A key tool in this endeavor is a collaboration with Legacy, which has developed a software program that automatically collects  consumption data for properties and calculates their CO2 footprint. Legacy also serves as a tool to optimize energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.

Legacy’s business model is based on helping property owners make informed decisions using high-quality data, thereby contributing to reduced energy consumption and the green transition of the sector. Today, Legacy provides CO2 accounting services for approximately 40 large property companies.
